Four books and fifteen forms of the word "chagrin" later...

...I have finished the Twilight series.

And let me admit, I have become a fan. I'd still pick Harry Potter over Twilight any day, but it was entertaining, and worth the money I spent on the books. I read them straight through, starting with book one and ending with book four, without any breaks in the middle. I was slowing down my reading during "Eclipse" (number three) only because I was getting intensely busy with the end of the drum corps season, but as soon as I started "Breaking Dawn," my reading picked up again and I finished that book in a week and a half. And now I can watch that "Breaking Dawn" video that Kristina (Monday from FiveAwesomeGirls) posted on her personal channel on YouTube.

4 in the first book, 2 in the second, 4 in the third, and a whopping 5 in the last book.

My glasses broke the other day. They slowly snapped in half while I was polishing the lenses on my shirt. I don't even know how it happened, because I wasn't applying much pressure to them, and bam. They broke in the middle. I tried glueing them, but that didn't work. I finally had an appointment at the eyeglasses place today and picked out some new frames, so they should be ready sometime next week. I'm really excited for new glasses! There will be before/after pictures, I promise.

accio, accio, accio hot guy, oh bring me a boyfriend, he better be cute...

I am officially addicted to Wizard Rock.

On Sunday, my made of awesome friend Cait and I went to the first ever NYC Wizard Rock Festival. Now, I wasn't much of a Wizard Rock fan to begin with, but I watch the FiveAwesomeGirls on youtube and two of them are in Wizard Rock bands. That's how I got into this, and when I found out there was a show in NYC, I thought, "why not?"

Dude, it turns out it was pretty freakin' sweet. I mean....two whole rooms full of Harry Potter and music fans. What more could you ask for? I mean, some of the sets were "ehhh" and I thought, "you really shouldn't be up there..." but that's the whole point. You don't have to be amazing to sing and make music about stuff you love. Some of my favorites were Lauren from the Moaning Myrtles (and Tuesday on FiveAwesomeGirls), Lena of the Butterbeer Experience, Nagini and Alastor (they sang most of their duet album, and Justin Finch Fletchley and the Sugar Quills (although I have to admit their set came with a pair of earplugs). Thanks, Cait, for saving my ears!

Some of the highlights of that day:
-Meeting Lauren. I absolutely love Tuesday on 5AG.
-Buying 4 CDs of music. I was listening to the Moaning Myrtles and the Butterbeer Experience at work today.
-I loved the fact that everyone was singing along to all these HP Wrock songs, and the one song that Lena and Lauren do, that has nothing to do with HP (well, it has some WRock references, but it is a more nerdfighter-esque song) I know all the words to. "Guacamole Ukulele Song" FTW!

I enjoyed some delicious cookies and cupcakes by this awesome woman who makes Harry Potter cookies and cupcakes. Check them out!

And speaking of Paper Towns....oh man 21 days until Paper Towns. I am so damn excited. This is going to be my first ever book release party. And I get to meet John Green! After watching him on Youtube for a year now! And I get to meet the Yeti! And I get to see Hank again!

maybe there's a feeling that you've been brushing off

I am nine photos away from finishing my photo blog, and I can't seem to find the motivation to finish it.

What is wrong with me?

one look was all it took and everything was said

I'm really pissed off about something, but I can't pinpoint exactly what it is.

I'm missing Drum Corps a lot, but I'm also not, because I really like having some sort of freedom on the weekends. I keep changing my mind as to whether or not I want to go back next season. I'm still undecided.

Work is good, I guess. I'm playing in the childrens' show right now, and that's really fun. I enjoy the music, and watching the story unfold right in front of me, and being a part of it an amazing experience. I think I'm just frustrated with work in general.

I'm looking for a job right now. I'd definitely love to have more money.

I really need to clean my room. Like really badly.

And I desperately need a vacation. I need to get out of New York and go farther than the couple of states I had shows in this past summer. I need to go further than that, and maybe to a different country entirely.

I think I'm going to my brother's show later tonight. I suppose taking a shower would be a smart thing to do (it is soooo hot and humid outside). I feel mad tired from today.

And I'm in a bad mood.

I finished "Twilight", and I'm almost finished with "New Moon", the second book in the Twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer.

I splurged and bought the last two books in hardcover.
I want to be able to read the next books without any hesitation, and I don't really want to break up the series with other books, although there is so much I want to read.

I'm a nerd and counted how many times Stephenie Meyer used the word "chagrin" in the first book. So far, none have been spotted in the 2nd book.

I ordered a bunch of stuff last night on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I had a giftcard for Amazon that I've been meaning to use, so I ordered the two John Green books that were just released with new covers, "An Abundance of Katherines" and "Looking for Alaska." I ordered those on Barnes and Noble since they were cheaper with my membership card, along with "Red: The Next Generation of American Writers--Teenage Girls--On What Fires Up Their Lives Today" which has a story written by one of my favorite youtubers. And I got it for pretty cheap, because it was a separate seller through Barnes and Noble. SCORE!



I read this book already, but I feel like I have to support Nerdfighteria (and John Green)


Maybe when I finally meet him, he'll sign these books, because his brother signed the original copies of these books :)

I also bought the soundtrack to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 movie, because my best friend and I saw it, and it was made of awesome. <3

Then I went to Amazon.com and bought Juno (the DVD) and Matt Nathanson's CD, Beneath These Fireworks. I love Matt Nathanson. (I'm going to see him for the 4th time in October! YESSSSS!)

I'm also seeing Hanson twice in October, and going to my first ever Wizard rock concert in September. Yes, these events are pretty exciting.

I signed up to work the whole day today.

I got into work around 9:30am.

By 12 noon I was beginning to regret agreeing to work the whole day.

2pm rolled around, and I was getting bored.

Lots of stuff started happening. The phone rang, the buzzer rang, I distributed mail, got one of my keys stuck in the lock of one of the doors.

It was eventful.

4pm came by, and I wanted to go home.

5pm arrived, and so did Roxy.

Roxy and I bonded. She loves Hanson. This is an amazing thing.

She loves Zac. Also an amazing thing.

We talked about concerts, shared little anecdotes, and just did usual banter.

I was already pretty slap-happy from being at work all day. I'm sure that amused her.

I started reading Twilight. She was reading Breaking Dawn (Book #4 in the series).

We continuously made fun of Edward Cullen.

We wrote each other post-it notes saying, "Be Safe," or "pancakes and cereal." And other silly things.

I autographed a bunch of useless things we found in the box office.

We were that bored.

Working with Roxy is so much fun.

I will always reach too high 'cause I've seen twilight

I hung out with my best friend yesterday. We finally went to the new Applebee's by my house. It's been open for awhile now, but we always decide to eat at Uno's or Panera instead, so we finally tried out the new place. It's cute - it's smaller than most Applebee's, and I didn't see any signature carousel horses in between the booths, and not too much excess items on the walls. Maybe they're still decorating, or maybe they'll just keep the pictures of celebrities on the walls. I did notice some sports memorabilia from the local public high school back near the bathrooms, and also some stuff from one of the colleges in a near-by town. It was cool stuff. We've decided that next time we go out for food and I don't have to run to work, we'll have drinks. :)

After that, we traipsed up and down the main block we usually walk. We went to the library to find the Twilight book by Stephenie Meyer, and even though the database said there was one in stock, we didn't find it on the shelves. Kelly spotted a girl with one of the other books who had JUST come off the check-out line, and we thought maybe she had the first book as well. I was about ready to run after her and mow her down and grab the book for Kelly!

After that unsuccessful encounter at the library, we turned down one of the cross streets to try and find an old book store my mom used to go to. I called her en route to try and remember where it was, but we ended up finding a different book store a little bit further down (the one I was trying to look for was gone). My neighborhood could really do with a Barnes and Nobles. I would be in there all the time. I would WORK there. But anyway, they didn't have any of the Twilight series books, either, but they had Stephenie Meyers' new book, The Host. After that, we went to Duane Reade to quench our thirst.

Then I decided Kelly should come with me to the city and we could stop by the Barnes and Noble near my job. A train ride later, we were there, looking at the pile of Twilight series books before us. We both grabbed Twilight, looked around some more (Kelly bought a WoW mini calendar for her boyfriend - adorable), then hopped online to pay for our purchases. Then we walked to my job, and Kelly went home.

And now I own Twilight.



I was skeptical about reading the series at first. I'm not a fan of vampires (I had to read Dracula for highschool, and I was not impressed), but I kind of want to see what all the hype is about. I keep hearing it's better than Harry Potter (I LOVE Harry Potter....I don't think that anything could ever top Harry Potter, unless J.K. Rowling herself comes up with an even better series). Kelly was interested because it's another series, and we both like reading books in a series (Harry Potter, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, etc.). So, I figured I would at least buy the first book and see what it was all about, and if I liked it, I would continue. And I figured if Kelly's willing to try it out, I am, too.

I'm past the halfway point of Eat Pray Love. I want to finish it so badly so I can start Twilight now (I was going to start one of the many OTHER books I want to read now that I have time to read, but those will probably have to wait now).

There are also a couple of books that are coming out that I simply can not wait for.
